csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's basketball team out-scored North Central University (Minn.) 23-7 in the first quarter and cruised to a 74-50 Wednesday night in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) play.
The Action
The Rams (5-12, 1-9 UMAC) led 5-4 in the opening minutes of the contest. CSS then went on a 15-0 run as North Central was held to one field goal the rest of the first period.
Rashonna Thomas (Minneapolis, Minn./Columbia Heights HS (Anoka-Ramsey CC)) scored seven of the 15 points during the run. The Saints led 23-7 after 10 minutes of play.
After that first quarter, the margin remained around 20 points, until the Saints stretched it out in the fourth quarter to as much as 28 with six minutes to go in the game. St. Scholastica would win by a final margin of 74-50.

Thomas finished with a game-high 19 points.
Sam Brannen (Ramsey, Minn./Anoka HS) added 12 points off the bench and
Michala Walther (Roseville, Minn./Concordia Academy) finished with 11 points.
Danielle Cieluch (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) grabbed a game-high eight rebounds and added a career-high seven assists.

Lizzy Swanson had 14 points for the Rams. Bethany Shield also finished in double-figures with 11 points.
