Women’s Basketball Looks to Keep Pace in the UMAC

DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's basketball team travels to face North Central University (Minn.) on Wednesday before hosting the University of Minnesota Morris on Saturday for Alumni Day.

What You Need to Know about the Saints:
-The Saints are coming off a road loss to Bethany Lutheran College on Saturday.
-Junior guard Rashonna Thomas (Minneapolis, Minn./Columbia Heights HS (Anoka-Ramsey CC)) has scored in double-figures in seven straight games.
-Thomas scored a season-high 23 points in the team's win over Northland College last week.
-The Saints are tied with Minnesota Morris for fourth place in the UMAC standings.
-Both teams are two games behind second place Northwestern and Bethany Lutheran.

-VanKempen leads the conference with 26 blocks against conference opponents.
-CSS has made the second-most 3-point field goals in the conference (112).
-CSS has the best turnover margin (+2.59) in the UMAC and forces the most turnovers (20.4) per game.
-However, the Saints have the lowest rebound margin (-5.5) in the league.

-The Rams are 4-11 overall and 1-8 in conference play.
-The lone conference win of the season came at home against Northland College in January.
-NCU averages a conference-best 7.2 3-point field goals per game.
-The Rams are the lowest free throw shooting team in the UMAC at 58 percent.
-North Central is led by Lizzy Swanson, who averages 17.8 points per game, second-most in the conference.
-Haley Modahl has made 33 3-point field goals, the second-most in the conference.
-Bethany Shield averages 3.5 steals per game, third-most in the UMAC.

-Mauren Thiesen leads all conference players with 42 made 3-point field goals.
-Thiesen leads the team in scoring at 12.8 points per game.
-The Cougars have the top assist-to-turnover ratio in league play at 1.09.
