Dickinson Leads Women’s Skiers for the Second Straight Day

CABLE, Wis. (csssaints.com) – St. Scholastica senior Kelsey Dickinson (Winthrop, Wash./Liberty Bell HS) recorded her second top 10 Central Collegiate Ski Association (CCSA) finish in as many days on Sunday in the 10km freestyle on the Birkie Trails of the Telemark Chase.
 
Top Performances
Dickinson was 13th overall, but eighth among CCSA skiers with a time of 27:23. In her first race of the season on Saturday, Dickinson was seventh in the 5km Classic.
 
Also scoring for the Saints for the second straight day was junior Greta Jenkins (Palmer, Alaska/Colony HS), who was 11th among CCSA skiers and 16th overall with a time of 27:45. It is the first time Jenkins has scored in back-to-back CCSA races.
 
Freshman Megan Schiferl (Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge HS) scored for the Saints for the first time in her career, finishing in a time of 28:27, 13th in the CCSA and 27th overall. Freshman Hanna Dahlberg (Ulricehamn, Sweden/Tingsholms School) was right behind Schiferl in 14th and 28th with a time of 28:31. A third CSS freshman, Samantha Benzing (Boise, Idaho/Boise HS) was 15th among CCSA skiers and 30th overall with a time of 28:39.
 
Northern Michigan University swept the top three spots led once again by Vivian Hett with a time of 26:10.
 
Up Next
The Saints will be at home next weekend when they host the Saints Invitational classic race on Saturday and the CCSA Relay Championships on Sunday. Both events will take place at Spirit Mountain.
