DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's soccer team gave No. 10 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater all it could handle on Sunday at the Advantage Emblem Cup at Saints, but a first half Warhawk goal held up in a 1-0 decision.

The Action
The Warhawks (2-0), who scored a pair of goals in a 2-0 victory over Gustavus Adolphus College on Friday at Saints Field, were limited in scoring chances on Sunday against the CSS defense. Whitewater managed only five shots on goal for the game.

However, it was in the 22nd minute that Whitewater had a throw-in and Karina Rosales was able to put that throw-in to the back of the net to make it 1-0. A couple of minutes later, the Warhawks hit the top of the crossbar in another near miss.

St. Scholastica limited the Warhawks to only one shot on goal in the second, while the Saints started to put pressure on late. However, Whitewater held off the Saints to prevail 1-0.

Notable Performances
CSS goalkeeper Roni Rudolph (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS (Minnesota-Duluth)) made four saves. Taylor Olson (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Denfeld HS) and Kailee Katt (Esko, Minn./Esko HS (St. Catherine)) each recorded shots.

All-Tournament
Junior Hannah Zeis (Ashland, Wis./Ashland HS) and senior Cali Marsaa (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Denfeld HS) were both named to the Advantage Emblem Cup All-Tournament Team. Zeis is named to the team for the second straight year.

Up Next
The Saints (0-1-1) travel to Luther College (Iowa) on Friday for a night game against the Norse with action slated to begin at 7 p.m.
