csssaints.com) – In its fourth-and-final Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) triangular, the St. Scholastica volleyball team did what it had accomplished in the previous three triangulars and that was split. The Saints fell to the University of Minnesota Morris, but ended with a sweep of North Central University (Minn.) Wednesday.

The Saints opened with the Cougars and struggled to get much offense going in a three-set defeat. Minnesota Morris never trailed in the match to win by scores of 25-8, 25-16 and 25-14.
CSS had its lowest hitting percentage of the season (-.024) and managed just 14 kills in the match.
Emily Bounds (Hill City, Minn./Hill City HS) had seven of those 14 kills.
Kelsi Rippberger (Brooklyn Park, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong HS) had a team-high eight digs.
CSS 3, North Central 0
In the nightcap, the Saints took care of the host Rams in three sets by scores of 25-14, 25-10 and 25-12.
St. Scholastica scored the first five points of the first set. North Central got back within three points on a couple of occasions, but the Saints recorded the final five points to take the opening set.
In the second set, the Saints had scoring runs of seven straight and six straight to easily take a two-set lead. The same thing went down in the third set with CSS going on a 12-2 run to close out the match in three.
Brooke Schermann (Brooklyn Park, Minn./Totino-Grace HS) led the Saints with eight kills, including four in the second set.
Christaia Houser (Esko, Minn./Homeschool) had seven kills, including five in the third set. She also had a season-high seven blocks.
Morgan Prom (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Cathedral HS) and Rippberger each had 12 assists. Schermann also led the team with 13 digs.
