DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) - The St. Scholastica women's soccer team beat out the University of Minnesota Morris 3-1 Saturday at Saints Field in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Game of the Week.

First Half
In the first 10 minutes of the game, both teams were evenly matched. This was until Rachel Dixon (Superior, Wis./Superior HS) broke through for a shot on goal, which was blocked by the Morris goalkeeper.

A minute later, Janelle Rouillard (Dayton, Minn./Rogers HS) would take a shot on goal, which was saved, and then also headed the ball, which went wide.  Once play began again, Kailee Katt (Esko, Minn./Esko HS (St. Catherine)) quickly set up Rouillard to beat the keeper, scoring her first goal of the season to put the Saints on the board 1-0.

With 15 minutes left to go in the first half, Katt set up Rancour for a one-on-one with the goalkeeper. Rancour won this one on with the keeper, sinking the ball into the net, to strengthen the Saints lead to 2-0.

Both teams fought hard to get another goal before time ran out, but the score would remain at 2-0 to start the second half. Scholastica had a total of seven shots on goal this half. The Cougars had zero.

Second Half
10 minutes into the second half, Rouillard, assisted by Taylor Olson (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Denfeld HS), got a good shot to the net that went through the goalkeepers hands for the goal to go up 3-0.

With 15 minutes left in the game, a foul was called on the Saints. This led to a penalty kick opportunity for Morris, where it scored, bringing the margin to 3-1. Morris fought hard to try to get another goal before time ran out, but both teams did not get another shot on goal. The final score of the game was 3-1 in favor of the Saints.
