DE PERE, Wis. (csssaints.com) - The St. Scholastica men's hockey team suffered a 4-0 loss to No. 4 St. Norbert College (Wis.) in the semifinals of the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) Harris Cup, ending its season with a record of 13-13-1 overall.

The Action
The Saints had an early power play opportunity after a tripping penalty on St. Norbert, though they would not capitalize. The Green Knights put their first goal on the board after nearly eight minutes of play had elsapsed. The goal, coming from Ross Pavek, was the only goal of the entire game that would not be scored on a power play. A minute and a half later, after a slashing penalty on the Saints, the Green Knights put their second goal in the net. The Saints successfully killed off another penalty late in the period, and the teams would head into the first intermission with a score of 2-0 in favor of St. Norbert.

The second period was another successful one for SNC, though the scoring didn't come until late in the period. The Saints failed to take advantage of another power play, and then the Green Knights used two consecutive CSS penalties to add two goals to the scoreboard in the last half of the period, giving the Knights a 4-0 lead, which would carry it through to the end of the game. The third period saw no scoring from either team, despite one power play opportunity for St. Norbert and two for the Saints.

Zane Steeves (Red Deer, Alberta/Athol Murray College of Notre Dame (100 Mile Wranglers-KIJHL)) was in the net for the Saints, coming off of a season high of 36 saves in the Saints' last game against Northland College. He faced 36 shots against St. Norbert and saved 32 of them.
