The third-ranked Falcons out-shot the Saints 18-3 in the first period and went on to score four goals in the span of 11 minutes in the period. Carley Moran scored two of the goals and Dani Sibley assisted all four goals.
Saints Rally
St. Scholastica got on the board less than three minutes into the second period on a
Mac Johnson (Monticello, Minn./Monticello HS (St. Cloud State)) unassisted tally. That would be the lone goal of the second as the Saints trailed 4-1 at the second intermission.
Abby Sawyer (Owatonna, Minn./Owatonna HS) scored two minutes and 10 seconds into the third period to make it 4-2.
Greta Nundahl (New Brighton, Minn./Irondale HS) was credited the assist. With nine minutes remaining
Alexia Klaas (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Denfeld HS (Minnesota-Duluth)) made it a little more interesting with a power-play goal to make it a one-goal game at 4-3.
Emily Stegora (Red Wing, Minn./Red Wing HS (Minnesota State-Mankato)) had the assist.
However, only 34 seconds later Sibley extended the margin back to 5-3 for the Falcons with an unassisted goal. Both teams had power-plays late, but nothing came of it as River Falls hung on for the 5-3 victory.

Lexi Thomeczek (St. Louis, Mo./St. Joseph Academy (St. Louis AAA Blues)) had a season-high 41 saves in the loss for the Saints. Tatyana Delaittre had 12 saves in the victory for the Falcons (23-2-0).
