Dahlberg Leads Women’s Skiing in Michigan Tech Classic Race

HOUGHTON, Mich. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's Nordic ski team had four skiers place in the top 30 on Sunday at the Michigan Tech JNQ 10km classic race.
 
Top Performances
Freshman Hanna Dahlberg (Ulricehamn, Sweden/Tingsholms School) led the Saints with a 23rd place finish with a time of 39:38. Junior Greta Jenkins (Palmer, Alaska/Colony HS) was right behind Dahlberg in 24th with a time of 40:14.
 
Freshman Samantha Benzing (Boise, Idaho/Boise HS) was two spots back in 26th, posting a time of 40:26. Megan Schiferl (Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge HS), Saturday's junior division champion in the 1.5km freestyle sprint, was the final Saint to place in the top 30, coming home 29th with a time of 40:36.
 
Northern Michigan University had five skiers place in the top six overall. Today's winner was Felicia Gesior of CXC with a time of 35:35.
 
Up Next
The Saints will next be in action when they have skiers compete at the U.S. Championships in Anchorage, Alaska beginning on Wednesday, January 3.
