Women’s Basketball Hosts One; Travels for another this Week

DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's basketball team will look for its first Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) win this week when it hosts North Central University (Minn.) on Wednesday and travels to the University of Minnesota Morris on Saturday.

What You Need to Know about the Saints:
-The Saints have dropped three straight games since returning from a 2-0 Colorado trip over the Thanksgiving holiday.
-CSS squandered a 16-point second half lead and fell to Bethany Lutheran College on Saturday.
-The Saints shot a season-low 30 percent from the floor in the loss.
-CSS also went to the free throw line a season-low six times on Saturday.
-Freshman guard Kaylee Kennedy (Littlefork, Minn./Littlefork-Big Falls HS) has led the team in scoring each of the last two games and has scored in double-figures in three straight games.

-Mauren Thiesen leads the team in scoring, averaging 12.9 points per game.
-Kendra Raths averages 11.6 points per game.
-Thiesen ranks second in the conference with an average of 2.6 3-pointers per game.
-Abby VanKempen, sister of St. Scholastica's Holly VanKempen (Elbow Lake, Minn./West Central HS), leads the UMAC with 10.7 rebounds per game.
