DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's basketball team led for over 35 minutes and shot 50 percent from the floor en route to an 83-65 victory over Bridge Rival University of Wisconsin-Superior on Saturday at the Reif Gymnasium.

The Anderson Show in the First Half
There were four ties and six lead changes in the opening 10 minutes of the game. Freshman guard Collin Anderson (Eagan, Minn./Eagan HS) then entered the game with under 12 minutes remaining and the Saints leading by one. From the 9:20 mark until there was 4:50 remaining, Anderson had scored 13 points and St. Scholastica extended its lead to eight. Anderson made three 3-pointers during that stretch.

CSS maintained that eight-point lead at the half by a score of 45-37. The Saints shot 52 percent from the field in the first half, while holding Superior to 43 percent.

Saints Pull Away in the Second Half
Dylan Zimmerman (Elmdale, Minn./Upsala HS) gave the Saints a 10-point lead on CSS' opening possession of the second half. UWS got it back down to eight for about 30 seconds until Zimmerman again made it a 10-point lead. From that point on, the margin remained in double-digits as the Saints went on an 11-0 run to take a 19-point lead with 14 minutes to go.

The St. Scholastica lead got as high as 25 following a Zach Dahlman (Braham, Minn./Braham HS) layup as the Saints cruised to a final score of 83-65.
