Women's Skiing Competes in the Telemark Chase





CABLE, Wis. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's Nordic ski team placed third as a team in the 5km classic race of the Telemark Chase on Saturday.
 
The Action
Greta Jenkins (Palmer, Alaska/Colony HS) led the Saints for the first time in her career, finishing 26th overall and 13th in the Central Collegiate Ski Association (CCSA) with a time of 20:25.
 
Right behind Jenkins was Allison Ternes (Vadnais Heights, Minn./White Bear Lake HS) in 27th, 14th in the CCSA, posting a time of 20:28. Ellie Evans (New Hope, Minn./Robbinsdale Cooper HS) was the final Saint to score, edging teammate Nicole Gilman (Manitowish Waters, Wis./Lakeland Union HS). Evans was 35th overall, 18th in the CCSA, with a time of 20:54.1. Gilman was also in the top 20 in the CCSA finishing in 20:54.7.
 
Northern Michigan dominated among CCSA teams with the top eight finishers, led by Vivian Hett, who finished in 17:58.
 
Up Next
The Saints will compete in the 15km freestyle tomorrow at the American Birkebeiner Trailhead in Cable, Wisconsin.
