Northern Collegiate Hockey Association: Standings | Stats

Last Action: The Saints are coming off a wild weekend in Milwaukee, coming back from three goals down in the third period to tie the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) on Friday night 3-3 and then rallying from two goals down in the third period on Saturday to defeat MSOE on Saturday 6-4 … Senior defenseman Brandon Parrone (Peoria, Ariz./Brophy College Prep (Melfort-SJHL) ) recorded his first collegiate goal in Saturday's win.

Three-Goal Rally in the Third: Friday's 3-3 tie against the Raiders marked the first time since January 26, 2012 at the University of Wisconsin-Superior, where the Saints had a three-goal third period deficit and came back to at least tie the opponent … CSS also tied that UWS game 3-3.

Back-to-Back NCHA Player of the Week: Senior forward Brandon Millin (Port Moody, British Columbia/Heritage Woods HS (Notre Dame Hounds-SJHL) ) was named NCHA Offensive Player of the Week, for the second consecutive week, it was announced on Tuesday … He becomes the first NCHA player this season to earn the honor multiple times … Millin had five points last weekend against MSOE and all five points came in the third period … He had two assists in Friday night's comeback … On Saturday, he scored back-to-back goals to tie the game and pater assisted on the team's fourth goal of the period in the victory.

Steeves in Relief: Freshman goaltender Zane Steeves (Red Deer, Alberta/Athol Murray College of Notre Dame (100 Mile Wranglers-KIJHL)) entered Friday night's game against MSOE with the Saints trailing 3-0. He proceeded to pitch a shutout the rest of the game, stopping all 14 shots he faced in the final 32:50 of the game, including a MSOE penalty shot three minutes into the third period, which seemed to galvanize the Saints … Then in his second collegiate start on Saturday, he recorded 35 saves for his first collegiate win … The 35 saves are the most by a CSS goaltender this season.

Radford Rolling: Freshman forward Brett Radford (Campbell River, British Columbia/Athol Murray College of Notre Dame (Canmore-AJHL)) has recorded at least one point in seven straight games and ranks third in the NCHA among freshmen with 13 points.

Where They Stand: It's never too early to begin looking at the standings … The Saints are currently in second place in the NCHA North Division with 13 points … They trail No. 1 nationally-ranked St. Norbert College by four points … This weekend's opponent, Lawrence, is three points back of CSS … If combining both divisions of the NCHA the Saints would be tied for fourth with Concordia University (Wis.) … Including this weekend, there are five weekends of league games remaining.

The Vikings are coming off a three-point weekend at Aurora University (Ill.) last weekend … Prior to that, they were 1-5-1 in their previous seven games …  Lawrence is 1-7-1 in away games, with its first road win coming at Aurora last weekend … Senior forward Blake Roubos and sophomore forward Josh Koepplinger each lead the team with 13 points … Roubos has a team-high seven goals, while Koepplinger leads the squad with eight assists … Freshman Evan Cline has seen a little more action than the senior Mattias Soderqvist in goal … Cline has a 2.17 goals-against-average and a .935 save percentage … That save percentage ranks second in the NCHA.
