csssaints.com)- The St. Scholastica women's soccer team defeated the University of Wisconsin-Superior 1-0 on Wednesday, adding onto the Saints' 11-game win streak against the Yellowjackets.
The Action:
CSS dominated UWS, with St. Scholastica having 11 shots on goal and Superior being limited to only one shot. The Saints started shooting early in the game, with the first shot on goal coming from
Taylor Olson (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Denfeld HS ) within the first two minutes of the game.
The only goal came twenty minutes into the game, with a quick touch by T. Olson, handed off to Peyton Basco for a shot that successfully sailed into the lower left corner of the goal. This was Basco's first goal of the season and the third of her career.
Superior's one shot on goal came in the middle of the second half but was stopped by St. Scholastica goalkeeper
Roni Rudolph (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS (Minnesota-Duluth) ). She now has a save percentage of .875 and has saved 42 shots on goal this season.
T. Olson led the Saints with four shots on goal, followed by
Kirsten Olsen (Ham Lake, Minn./Blaine HS ) who had two.
