DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) — Despite out-shooting Northland College 27-6, the St. Scholastica women's soccer team could not find the net and had to settle for a scoreless draw against the LumberJills on Tuesday in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) opener at Saints Field.

The Action
The first half saw the CSS offense dominating, outshooting the Lumberjacks 12-4, but none of the shots found the back of the net. The second half was more of the same, and at the end of regulation time, the score was still tied at zero.

After three more shots on goal for the Saints, and two overtimes, the score would not change, and for the second time in the 2016 season, CSS finished the game in a scoreless draw.

Becca Rancour (Hutchinson, Minn./Hutchinson HS ) led the Saints in shots on goal, with three. Hannah Zeis (Ashland, Wis./Ashland HS ) and Janelle Rouillard (Dayton, Minn./Rogers HS) followed closely behind, collecting two a piece. Freshman keeper Olivia Schmitz (Caledonia, Minn./Caledonia HS ), in her collegiate debut, had five saves for St. Scholastica.

Up Next
The Saints (1-2-2) back at it again on Thursday when they travel to Wisconsin to take on UW-LaCrosse. Action is set to start at 7:00 p.m.
