PREVIEW: Soccer Teams Begin UMAC Play Tuesday

DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's and women's soccer teams will host Northland College on Tuesday at Saints Field in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) opener.

CSS Notes: The Saints are coming off a pair of one goal home losses in the Advantage Emblem Cup over the weekend against the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and Loras College (Iowa) … The lone goal scored in the two games was a Taylor Olson (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Denfeld HS ) penalty kick in the final minute against Loras … Dating back to last season each of the last four losses for the Saints have come by one goal … CSS has played better in second halves this season as it is getting out-shot 29-10 in the first 45 minutes of games, while shots 28-24 in favor of the opponents after halftime … Freshman goalkeeper Roni Rudolph (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS (Minnesota-Duluth) ) has made 27 saves thus far this season, which leads the conference.
