Notables-CSS finishes spring break trip 4-6-Hope was a NCAA Tournament team last season

csssaints.com) – Hope College (Mich.) scored two runs before the St. Scholastica softball team recorded an out on Thursday and it held up as the Saints dropped its spring break finale 2-0 to the Flying Dutch.
The ActionThe Flying Dutch had three straight singles to start the game, scoring two runs to take a 2-0 lead. Hope would only get two more hits the rest of the way as
Chrisi Mizera (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East HS) struck out nine and walked one batter.
The Saints bats were relatively quiet until the bottom of the sixth.
Nikki Logergren (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Denfeld HS (Northern Stars)) reached on an error to lead off the inning. Back-to-back singles by
Maggie Schley (Mounds View, Minn./Irondale HS) and
Hannah Borgeson (Woodville, Wis./Baldwin-Woodville HS) loaded the bases with no outs. However, CSS would strikeout, foul out and strikeout to end the inning.
CSS then went down in order in the seventh to give Hope the 2-0 victory.
Top Offensive PerformersSchley was 3-for-3 at the plate. Three other Saints had hits, but the Saints did not have an extra base it for the game
