Game 1: CSS 6, St. Ben's 4The teams exchanged four runs in the fourth inning, but the Saints took the lead for good in the fifth en route to a 6-4 win.
Both teams stranded the bases loaded early in the game as the contest remained scoreless entering the fourth inning.
The Saints had runners at the corners with one out in the top of the fourth when
Chrisi Mizera (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East HS) helped her own cause with a RBI single to give CSS a 1-0 lead. Two batters later,
Alexa Bremer (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS) had a two-out single to make it 2-0.
Micah McGuiness (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS) followed with a bases-clearing double as the score stood at 4-0.
However, the Blazers responded in the bottom frame with four runs, three of which coming with two outs, to tie the game at 4-4.
In the fifth,
Maggie Schley (Mounds View, Minn./Irondale HS) led off reaching base on an error. Following a
Hannah Borgeson (Woodville, Wis./Baldwin-Woodville HS) double to put runners at second and third,
Rendi Johnson (Bonney Lake, Wash./Bonney Lake HS) hit a sacrifice fly to bring in Schley and give the lead back to the Saints at 5-4. Later in the inning,
Becca Zwak (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) had a RBI groundout to plate
Carley Henning (Mazeppa, Minn./Zumbrota-Mazeppa HS) extending the lead to 6-4.
That is all Mizera needed as she allowed only one hit in the final three innings and the Saints defense turned a double play to end the game.
Mizera recorded four strikeouts in the victory. The Saints had 12 hits offensively with McGuiness, Schley and Mizera each recorded a pair. Of the 12 hits, four were doubles.
Game 2: St. Ben's 5, CSS 4The Saints got off to a good start in game two and led until the bottom of the fifth when Saint Benedict was able to push two runs across to ultimately give the Blazers the 5-4 victory.

It remained 3-1 until the bottom of the fourth when Blazers reached on an error to lead off the inning. Two batters later, a two-run home run to dead center tied it up at 3-3.
The Saints were able to regain the lead in the fifth when
Hannah Borgeson (Woodville, Wis./Baldwin-Woodville HS) hit a liner off the pitcher's glove, which allowed McGuiness to score and make it 4-3 Saints.
Unfortunately, a leadoff single, followed by a double in the bottom of the fifth quickly tied the game at 4-4. Later in the inning, the Blazers got a two-out RBI single to take the lead at 5-4. The Saints would not get a base runner the rest of the way as it dropped game two 5-4.
