Notables
-CSS' Kohl with a career-high eight strikeouts vs. BVU

ROCHESTER, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica softball team committed four errors in a loss to the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse to begin Sunday, then could not get any runs across in a loss to Buena Vista University (Iowa) to conclude play at the Rochester Dome Tournament.

UW-La Crosse 10, CSS 4
The Saints got off to a slow start in a loss to the Eagles to begin the day. La Crosse had three runs come across in the top of the first thanks to a pair of doubles.

Maggie Schley (Mounds View, Minn./Irondale HS) then delivered a two-out, two-run double in the bottom frame to cut the Eagle lead to 3-2.

A pair of CSS errors in the top of the third led to three more Eagle runs to extend their lead to 6-2. Another two-out double by Alexa Bremer (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS) brought in Marjaana Dailey (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) and Jill Rosby (Brooklyn Park, Minn./Park Center HS ) to make it 6-4 after four innings of play.

However, another two-error inning by the Saints in the top of the fifth gave La Crosse two more runs to take an 8-2 advantage. The Eagles then scored a run in the sixth and seventh innings to win 10-4.

Chrisi Mizera (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East HS) picked up the loss for the Saints. Bremer was 3-for-4 with two RBIs to lead the CSS offense.

Buena Vista 1, CSS 0
Despite a solid pitching performance by sophomore Vanessa Kohl (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS), the Saints could only muster three hits in a 1-0 loss to the Beavers.

Kohl struck out a career-high eight, but allowed a RBI single in the bottom of the third and that proved to be the difference. Buena Vista only had five hits in the victory.

Kara Warren (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Denfeld HS) had two of St. Scholastica's three hits. The Saints only got one runner to third base in the game.
