St. Scholastica Saints
Stats
Record: 7-8-2, 5-1-1 UMAC
Upper Midwest Athletic Conference: Standings | Stats

Last Action: The Saints were shutout at Macalester College on Tuesday night, falling 3-0 … CSS was held to only one shot on goal.

Where They Stand: The Saints are currently in second place overall … CSS can finish anywhere from tied for first to fourth … The big game on the UMAC slate this weekend is Bethany Lutheran College at Northland College … If the Saints win this weekend and Northland also wins/ties, the Saints will finish second … If CSS wins and Northland loses, CSS will capture at least a share of the regular season title, but is very likely, based on goal differential and Bethany's final league game, that the Saints will fall to the No. 3 seed … If the Saints were to lose or tie on Saturday, there is potential based on other outcomes that the Saints could fall to the No. 4 seed.

Against the UMAC: For the first time since the 2003 season, the Saints have lost or tied multiple games in league play … In 2003, the Saints finished 10-2, but ended up winning the UMAC Tournament … From 2004 to 2015, the Saints had a regular season conference record 142-2-4 … The Saints have not lost back-to-back UMAC games since the 2002 season with Martin Luther being the second of that back-to-back.

Upcoming Opponents
Martin Luther Knights
Record: 4-13-0, 3-4-0 UMAC

The Knights are coming off a 5-3 loss at former UMAC program Presentation College (S.D.) on Thursday … As it stands right now, Martin Luther is on the outside, looking in, for the UMAC Tournament as it sits in sixth place … However, the Knights are only one point out of fifth-and-final postseason spot, so MLC needs a win on Saturday in its UMAC finale to keep postseason hopes alive … Jenna Maurer has scored 13 of the team's 24 goals, including all four game-winning goals, and has 29 points … Hailey  Johnson has a team-high five assists … Julia Barthels has made 96 saves and has recorded two shutouts in goal.

Series History: CSS leads 28-10-4

Last Meeting: The Saints took care of the Knights 7-0 last season in Duluth … CSS has won 19 straight in the series with the last non-win coming in the 2005 UMAC Tournament.

Looking Ahead: The Saints close out the regular season on Wednesday at Northland College in a non-conference game.
