WINNECONNE, Wis. (csssaints.com) – St. Scholastica sophomore Casey Hovland (North Branch, Minn./North Branch HS) finished 54th out of 280 runners on Saturday at the NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country Championship at Lake Breeze Golf Club, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.

The Race
Hovland got off to a solid start as she posted a split of 7:06.4 two kilometers in and was 28th overall. Nearly five kilometers in she had dropped off to 49th overall and had a 9:23.1 split. In the final kilometer-plus, Hovland would be passed by five more runners to finish 54th overall with a personal-best time of 22:00.4.
 
The top 35 runners earn All-America accolades and she missed that by 14 seconds. Hovland is the fourth CSS female runner to qualify individually in program history and the youngest of those runners to do so.
