ASHLAND, Wis. (
csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica volleyball team had no trouble with Northland College Wednesday night, sweeping the LumberJills 25-4, 25-14, 25-10.
In the opening set, the Saints scored 18 of the final 19 points to dominate the set 25-4. In the second set, CSS used a pair of 7-0 runs to distance itself from the LumberJills and win 25-14. In the third set, the Saints recorded nine consecutive points at one point to close out Northland in three sets 25-10.
Nikki Kienzle (Hermantown, Minn./Hermantown HS) and
Kortney Morrin (Grantsburg, Wis./Grantsburg HS (Northern State)) had eight kills apiece to pace the Saints.
Amanda Belden (Esko, Minn./Esko HS) added seven kills.
Emily Kessler (Blackberry, Minn./Greenway HS (Itasca CC)) had 16 assists and
Emily Jansen (Long Prairie, Minn./Long Prairie-Grey Eagle HS) contributed 15 assists.
Alex Barsody (Onamia, Minn./Onamia HS) had a team-high 13 digs.
