DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The fifth-ranked Adrian College (Mich.) Bulldogs scored four minutes into the third period to break a 1-1 tie on its way to a 2-1 victory over the St. Scholastica women's hockey team Friday night at Mars Lakeview Arena.
The conference's leading scorer Kelsey Kusch put the Bulldogs on top early with slap shot to the top corner of the net three minutes and 57 seconds into the game. CSS would be held to only one shot on goal in the opening period, but the Saints made it count as

Sierra Hanowski (Warroad, Minn./Warroad HS) and
Nina Waidacher (Arosa, Switzerland/Wirtschaftschule KV Chur (ZSC Lions/Swiss U18 National)) had the assists.
The second period would go scoreless as CSS'
Lindsey Hartfiel (Big Lake, Minn./Buffalo HS) stopped all 16 shots she faced in the period.
Four minutes into the third period, Kristin Lewicki finally got one past Hartfiel to put the Bulldogs up 2-1. St. Scholastica would not get many good looks at the net as Adrian remained unbeaten with the 2-1 win.
Hartfiel had 29 saves in the loss for the Saints, while Jade Walsh had 18 saves for her 16
th win of the season.
The Saints (8-9-2, 6-5-2 NCHA) will face Lake Forest College (Ill.) tomorrow at Mars Lakeview Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 4 p.m.
