Sharmila Ahmed (Burnsville, Minn./Burnsville HS) finished fourth for the second straight day at the Twin Cities Championships at Wirth Park, posting a time of 15:39.2 in the women's 5km Central Collegiate Ski Association (CCSA) field.

Anita Kirvesniemi (Simpele, Finland/Joensuun Yhteiskoulun Lukio (New Mexico)) posted her best collegiate freestyle finish in sixth with a time of 15:53.7. NCAA All-American, Alice Flanders of Michigan Tech, took a resounding win with a time of 14:50.1, a full 27.5 seconds faster than second place, Jordyn Ross, of Northern Michigan, in 15:17.7. NMU's Felicia Gesior finished third in 15:25.6.
Ellie Evans (New Hope, Minn./Robbinsdale Cooper HS) continued her great CCSA campaign with an 11
th place finish in a time of 16:05.1, to round out the Saints scoring. The Saints took second behind Northern Michigan on the day, edging Michigan Tech by one point for the second spot.
"Overall, just a great weekend for our women's team," glowed Saints head coach
Chad Salmela. "Top to bottom, we skied really well this weekend, and we just want to keep that momentum into the rest of the season."
The Saints are scheduled to host the Minnesota College Championships January 31, but lack of snow has the event in jeopardy. A decision on the event will be made
Tuesday. The Saints' next CCSA action is February 7 and 8 with the CCSA Sprint and Relay Championships, also scheduled for Duluth.
