The St. Scholastica volleyball team was swept in its home opener against 13th-ranked St. Benedict this past Saturday. This is the fifth consecutive time that the Blazers have taken the match in three sets against the Saints.
 
Ohaju Continues Her Offense: Gloria Ohaju (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Central HS), a junior at CSS continues her success as a middle blocker ... She registered six kills and a monster kill block in last Saturday's game against St. Benedict.  
 
Coach Dana Moore's success: Coach Moore has a career record of 1-0 against Bethel ... The single match was played in the 2011 season where the Saints swept the Royals off their feet ... Moore also holds a 16-8 record against UW-Superior with the last win a 3-2 match at the end of the 2013 season.
 
Saints are Leaders in the UMAC: Kortney Morrin (Grantsburg, Wis./Grantsburg HS (Northern State)) is found on two UMAC Top Individual stats, both involving kills ... She is ranked first in kills per set with a solid 3.56 ... She is also found in fourth place on total kills this season at 64 kills ... Also found as a top player is Tannyr Heyl (Ham Lake, Minn./Blaine HS (Saint Benedict)) in the digging department where she is seen at fourth place in digs per set ... Heyl is digging around 4.17 in each of her sets ... It may come as no surprise that Gloria Ohaju (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Central HS) is found as the top player in the UMAC as a brick wall blocker ... She is averaging 1.22 blocks a set.  
 
Bethel University
The Royals come to the match in Superior with a 6-2 overall record and a 1-0 record on the road ... Their last match was Saturday against Principia College ... Bethel took that match in three quick sets ... Top offensive performers from that match included Carlee Hoppe with 14 kills and Kristin Stern with 10 kills ... The offense was backed up by Kali Johnson with 15 digs and Kevyn Janicek with 14 digs.
 
UW-Superior
The Yellowjackets bring a 5-3 record to Tuesday's match which also happens to be their first home match ... UW-Superior lost their last match against Hamline in three sets ... The opening set went into extra points with a final score of 30-28 ... Two close sets also followed with scores of 25-21 and 25-20 ... Stephanie Bandelin led the offensive way with 12 kills while Chelsey Walerius, Jordan Olson, and Keely Deadrick backed her up with 26, 12, and 11 digs ... Bandelin even added two blocks in the loss.
