Huberty Sets Two Records; Saints with Three on the Day

DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's track & field team had members competing at the Minnesota State Open and Multi the last two days and at the Warren Bowlus Open on Saturday.

On Friday night, Becky Huberty (Lena, Wis./Lena HS) competed in the weight throw in Mankato. Huberty placed third in the event with a mark of 56'3" (17.14m).

Nicole Christianson (Coon Rapids, Minn./Coon Rapids HS) was the lone Saint competing in Mankato on Saturday and placed third in the high jump, clearing 5'6.5" (1.69m), which broke her previous program record. That mark currently ranks fourth in NCAA Division III.

Warren Bowlus Open
The rest of the Saints were in action at the University of Wisconsin-Stout for the second straight weekend with the Warren Bowlus Open.

Huberty who came up from Mankato to compete in both the shot put and weight throw in Menomonie had a big day breaking program records in both events. She won the shot put with a record mark of 44'10.75" (13.68m). Her winning, record mark in the weight throw was 57'0" (17.37m).

Jordan Johnson (Poplar, Wis./Northwestern HS) won the 5,000m run, posting a time of 19:28.31. Bre Adams (Crystal, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong HS) led a trio of Saints that swept the top three spots in the 1,000m run. Adams' winning time was 3:05.31.

Maggie Kurtovich (Andover, Minn./Andover HS) was second in the 400m dash with a time of 1:01.49. She was also fifth in the 200m dash, finishing in 27.72.

The 4x400m relay team of Emily Lundgren (Aitkin, Minn./Aitkin HS), Andrea Mogren (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS), Amy Campbell (Cloquet, Minn./Cloquet HS) and Taylor Gibson (La Crescent, Minn./La Crescent HS) was second with a time of 4:16.35.

Mogren was third in the 600m dash at 1:43.30 and fifth in the long jump with a leap of 15'5.5" (4.71m). Shelby Dugas (New Prague, Minn./New Prague HS) was fifth in the pole vault, clearing a height of 10'2" (3.10m).

The Saints will be at home next weekend when they host the seventh annual Lake Superior Challenge in the Burns Wellness Center Fieldhouse. Action is slated to begin at 11 a.m.
