The Saints went down to Nashville, Tennessee on Monday and Tuesday and earned their wins of the season, rallying to beat both Kenyon College (Ohio) and Anderson University (Ind.) by one point.
 
Hovick Clutch: In both victories down in Tennessee, Mariah Hovick (Prior Lake, Minn./Prior Lake HS) recorded the game-winning points. She drained a buzzer beater to defeat Kenyon on Monday and then sank two free throws in the final seconds to defeat Anderson on Tuesday.
 
Never Out of It: CSS trailed for over 68 minutes of the total 80 minutes played down in Tennessee, including overcoming second half deficits of at least nine points in both victories.
 
Take Care of the Ball: For the first time this season, the Saints recorded more assists than turnovers in their victory over Anderson … CSS has 12 assists and a season-low 12 turnovers.
 
Defense Wins Games: CSS has tightened up its defense the last three games, holding opponents to 38 percent shooting or less in each contest.
 
Series History: The Saints are 0-2 all-time against the University of Dubuque … Both meetings have taken place at UW-Stout's Thanksgiving Tournament with the last coming in 2012 … The Spartans have won by over 20 in both meetings.

The Spartans are coming off a split against a pair of teams from the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) on Monday and Tuesday, defeated UW-Whitewater on Monday 65-57, before falling to UW-La Crosse on Tuesday 61-51 … Dubuque enters Friday's game with a 5-5 overall record … The Spartans have three players averaging in double-figures in scoring, led by senior forward Jenna Kotas at 17.2 points per game … Kotas also leads the team with 6.6 rebounds per contest … Entering this week's games, Dubuque was ranked ninth in NCAA Division III in scoring offense, averaging 80.4 points per game … The Spartans are picked to finish fifth in the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC).
