Road Weary: St. Scholastica owns a perfect 5-0 record at home this season but has struggled on the road only managing a 2-3 record in away games…In the five away games CSS has played this season they have only scored 13 goals or an average of 2.6 goals per away game…Meanwhile the Saints have scored 21 goals in five home games for an average of 4.2 goals per home game.
Secondary Scoring Emerging: Sophomore forward
Derek Sutliffe (Las Vegas, Nev./Odyssey Charter School (Langley Rivermen-BCHL) ) provided much of the heavy-lifting offensively early in the season and currently leads the team with 12 points (6-6-12), however Sutliffe has been held without a point in the last three games…Where Sutliffe's point production has slowed,
Dylan Nowakowski (Calgary, Alberta/Centennial HS (Brooks-AJHL) ) and
Luke Simpson (Canmore, Alberta/Athol Murray College of Notre Dame (Canmore-AJHL) ) have picked up the slack with each recording four points over the last three games and combining for five of the seven goals scored over those three games.
All Important First Goal: When CSS scores the first goal in a game they hold a 6-1 record but when the opponent scores first their record is only 1-2…When the Saints are ahead after two periods of play they are a perfect 6-0...If CSS can get the lead early they are very difficult to beat.
