Upper Midwest Athletic Conference: Standings | Stats

CSS comes into this tournament match having won four out of its last five matches solidifying a third place finish in the UMAC regular season, however its last loss came on Halloween night to the same Cougar team that they are set to take on this Wednesday … In the 3-0 loss in which two of the games went to extra play to decide the Saints came out with the short end of the stick … Both extra play losses came 30-28, and 25-27 … The Saints have dominated in their wins, however, especially in their last victory vs. Crown College which saw CSS allow just 22 total points in three games with the most they let up being 11.

Winning in Dominant Fashion: Every single Saints win this season has come via the 3-0 sweep save one match in which they won 3-1 over Bethany Lutheran College … CSS has seen only one match this season go to five games … In that match, which ended in a loss, they took the then #19 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps to game five losing that game 15-6 in what was just their second match of the season

More with Morrin: In the victory over Crown College, Kortney Morrin (Grantsburg, Wis./Grantsburg HS (Northern State)) dominated tallying 18 of the team's 43 kills with just two errors on the night … Morrin currently leads the team with 312 kills ahead of Noelle Elvehjem (Mora, Minn./Mora HS) and Jen Hortness (Little Falls, Minn./Little Falls HS) who have 102 kills and 88 kills respectively

Looking for Improvement: Last season the Saints were knocked out in the semifinals by the University of Northwestern 3-1 … This year's Saints team looks more than capable for a long run in the playoffs this season

Series History: CSS is currently 23-13 against the University of Minnesota-Morris, however, they are 0-2 this season losing to the Cougars 3-0 in both meetings this season

University of Minnesota-Morris
The Cougars are currently 22-11 with a 12-2 UMAC record which is good for second place going into the UMAC playoffs … Their last conference loss came in a 3-0 sweep by the hand of Northwestern, who won the UMAC with a conference record of 14-0 … Minnesota-Morris has won four matches in a row, but before that went on a six match losing streak that included losses to #21 Millikin University, #22 College of St. Benedict, and #15 Trinity University … Emily Auch leads the team in kills with 329 while Brooke Decker leads the team in set assists with 541 and Hannah Terhaar in leading the team in digs with 471
