DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica Saints women's soccer team was held scoreless for the first time in games as the Saints settled for a 0-0 double overtime draw with the University of Minnesota-Morris at Saints Field on a blustery Saturday afternoon.

The Saints came our firing in the first half, with four corner kicks in the first twelve minutes and nine in the half, but were unable to capitalize. CSS outshot Morris 11-1 in the half, but was simply unable to find the back of the net. St. Scholastica would win the shots battle in the rest of the periods as well, coming very close on a couple of occasions.

Casey Mitchell (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Tech) would hit the crossbar in the 78th minute, and Jalyn Britton (Eagan, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran HS) would hit the post in the second overtime as well. Desipte outshooting the Cougars 6-3 in the second half, 2-0 in both overtimes and 21-4 for the contest, the Saints would have to settle for the scoreless double overtime tie.

CSS keeper Kelsey Reeves (Eagle River, Alaska/Eagle River HS ) made one save for the Saints, while Cougars keeper Torri Jordan saved eight shots for Morris. Reeves leads the UMAC with six shutouts on the season.

The Saints look to pick up a non-conference win on Tuesday as CSS travels to Macalaster to take on the Scots at 7:30 p.m. in St. Paul.
