DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) - The St. Scholastica women's soccer team recorded an overwhelming11 goals on Friday in defeating North Central University 11-0 at Saints Field.
Scoring started in the 12th minute when Lauren Lynch (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove HS) kicked it to Logan Williamson (Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson HS) for the first goal.
Shannon Carlson (Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury HS) kept her streak alive when she assisted Kelsey Kehtel (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) on the Saints second goal in the 22nd minute. Â Claire Lubansky (Chaska, Minn./Chaska HS) also assisted on the goal.
Just over six minutes later, Catherine Fisco (Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville North HS) recorded her first assist of the season and game when Casey Mitchell (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Tech) headed in the third goal for the Saints.
Freshman Kirsten Olsen (Ham Lake, Minn./Blaine HS ) scored her first goal of her career in the 30th minute, assisted by Logan Wiliamson.
Six minutes later, Jalyn Britton (Eagan, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran HS) scored on a penalty shot, giving the Saintsa 5-0 lead over the Rams. Â It was Brittons first goal of the season.
At the end of the first half Saints outshot the Rams 16-0. Â Rachel Chant of North Central saved four shots for the half.
Three minutes into the second half, Leah Hamm (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Denfeld HS) scored unassisted in the lower right corner of the Rams net.
Two minutes later, Hamm was assisted by Williamson for the seventh goal for the Saints. Â It was Williamsons third point of the game and Hamms second goal of the half.Â
Late in the 67th minute, Catherine Fisco (Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville North HS) scores her first goal of the game, assisted by Casey Mitchell (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Tech) and Leah Hamm (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Denfeld HS).
The next two goals for the Saints were in the 80th and 84th minute. Â Both goals were socred by Jalyn Britton (Eagan, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran HS) in the same corner, with a similiar cross.
Finally, in the 89th minute, Britton assisted Hamm for the Saints 11th goal.Â
The Saints outshot and outscored the Rams (1-7 overall, 0-3 UMAC), bringing the Rams losing streak to five.
CSS (5-2-1 overall, 4-0 UMAC) look to continue a winning streak when they face Northwestern Saturday at 2:15 p.m. at Saints Field.
