CSS Goes 0-2 in Wisconsin Dells

Box Score WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's basketball team dropped its second game in as many days at the JustAGame Fieldhouse, falling Sunday to the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse 89-49 in the Holiday Classic.

The Eagles began the game on a 9-0 run and never looked back. The Saints trailed 50-26 at halftime. The Saints committed nine turnovers in the first half, which led to 13 La Crosse points. The Eagles shot 63 percent from the field in the half, while the Saints shot 33 percent.

The second half was not much better for the Saints, getting only as close as 19 before falling by an 89-49 final score.

CSS committed 21 turnovers in the loss, while La Crosse had just six giveaways. The Eagles out-scored the Saints 30-5 in points off turnovers.

The Saints shot 33 percent for the game, while the Eagles finished at 57 percent. The Eagles drained 10, 3-pointers and were 19-for-23 from the free throw line.

Jake Naslund (Barnum, Minn./Barnum HS) led the Saints with eight points. LaMonte Hall (Minneapolis, Minn./DeLaSalle HS (Saint Mary’s)), Trevor Morlock (Rogers, Minn./Rogers HS (Minn., Crookston)) and Garret Pearson (Rush City, Minn./Rush City HS) each added seven points. Luke Tweed led the Eagles (8-3) with 16 points.

The Saints (2-8) will travel to the U.P. of Michigan next Saturday when they will face Finlandia University for a third time this season. The game is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. Eastern time.
