PREVIEW: Men's Basketball Travels to Dells for Tourney

DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's basketball team will participate in the JustAGame Holiday Classic in the Wisconsin Dells this weekend. The Saints will play UW-Oshkosh on Saturday and UW-La Crosse on Sunday.

Game Times:
Saturday vs. UW-Oshkosh – 5:30 p.m.
Sunday vs. UW-La Crosse – 3:30 p.m.

Record:

- The Saints look to extend their two-game winning streak as their last game was three weeks ago at home against Finlandia which resulted in an 89-59 victory.
- Trevor Morlock (Rogers, Minn./Rogers HS (Minn., Crookston)) has led the Saints offensively averaging 13.9 points a game.
- Jake Naslund (Barnum, Minn./Barnum HS) has also played well this year and is right behind Morlock with an 11.4 points per game average.
- Steve Golobich (Mountain Iron, Minn./Mountain Iron-Buhl HS (Mesabi Range CC)) has been bringing more balance to the offense as he has scored in the double digits in four of the Saints' last five games.
- Morlock is also leading the Saints in rebounds with an 8.4 average per game, which also leads the UMAC.
- Defensively, Naslund is third in the UMAC in steals with a 1.6 average per game.

University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Titans
Record: 3-6
Head Coach: Pat Juckem
- The Titans enter this weekend on a two-game winning streak of their own.
- Oshkosh has played a couple of familiar foes for the Saints as they have played both Finlandia and UW-Superior earlier this season defeating Finlandia, but falling to UWS.
- Offensively the Titans are led by Jade Royston and Dylan Wurtz, who are averaging 14.7 and 10.7 points per game, respectively.
- Max Schebel leads the team in rebounding with a 6.4 average per game.
- As a team, the Titans are averaging 11 offensive rebounds a game.
Series History: (CSS is 0-6 vs. UW-Oshkosh)
- The last time these two teams met was in the 1998-99 season with the Saints losing by a score of 81-73.


University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Eagles
Record: 7-2
Head Coach: Ken Koelbl
- The Eagles had their four-game winning streak snapped last Thursday when they fell to Division II's Southwest Minnesota State. The Eagles also had a three-game winning streak to start the season.
- La Crosse played the Saints' Saturday opponent, UW-Oshkosh, on December 11th and won by a score of 62-54.
- The team has three players averaging double digits in scoring with Calahan Skogman leading the way with a 12.7 average. Luke Tweed and Lucas Collom follow Skogman with 11.6 and 10.1 points per game averages, respectively.
- Braden Tice is shooting 58 percent from the three point line this season, which is second-best in NCAA Division III.  As a team, the Eagles are shooting 45 percent from long range, which is fourth-best in the country.

- The last time the Saints played the Eagles was in the 2003-04 season with the Eagles taking one from the Saints by a score of 66-50.
