DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – For the third straight year, the St. Scholastica women's soccer team will host the University of Minnesota Morris for the UMAC Tournament Championship. The match is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at Saints Field.

-The Saints enter Saturday's championship riding a 17-game winning streak. It is the second-longest winning streak in program history. The longest is 19 during the 2004 season and that streak was ended by Minnesota Morris in the UMAC Tournament championship game.
-Even though
Kelsey Kehtel (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) was held goalless in Tuesday's semifinal, she moved into second place all-time on the program's career points list at 156. She is 12 points shy of Robin Johnson's program record of 168.
-Kehtel is third in the nation in points per game (1.6) and fourth in both total goals and total points.
-CSS continues to be ranked in the top five nationally in scoring offense as it is fourth, averaging 4.7 goal per game. The Saints are third nationally in points per game (13.4).

Shannon Carlson (Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury HS) has played well against the Cougars as of late. In two games against Morris this season she has scored three goals, including two game-winners. She also had a game-winner at Morris last season.

Logan Williamson (Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson HS) is tied for the conference lead with 13 assists. Most of those have come off corner kicks.
-Since returning to the starting lineup, goalkeeper
Kelsey Reeves (Eagle River, Alaska/Eagle River HS ) has allowed just one goal in 450 minutes of action.
-The Saints have won the last two UMAC Tournament championships and five of the last six. The only loss was in 2010 against Northwestern at Saints Field.

-The Cougars are back in the UMAC Tournament title game and will be in search of its fourth UMAC Tournament championship, but their first since the 2006 season.
-Morris is led by sophomore Emma LaChance, who has 14 goals and 31 points.
-Freshman Carly Denlar has registered 12 goals, while junior Rachael Berns has 10 goals.
-Berns scored twice in Tuesday's 6-0 semifinal victory over Martin Luther.
-The Cougars have used two freshmen goalkeepers this season and the Saints have seen both of them. Morgan Delaney, who started the first meeting this season has a 0.90 goals-against-average and a .791 save percentage. Torri Jordan has a 0.71 GAA and a.706 save percentage.
-Morris is second in the conference in goal scored, but are fourth in the league in total shots on goal.

-The Saints have won the last five postseason battles with the Cougars.
-CSS's 4-0 win over Morris a couple of weeks ago, was the largest margin of victory over the Cougars since the 2009 season. |
