DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – For the first time since the 2007 season, St. Scholastica and the University of Northwestern will not meet for the UMAC Volleyball Tournament title, as both will meet in the tournament semifinals Wednesday at 7 p.m. in St. Paul.

St. Scholastica Saints

-The Saints will enter the UMAC Tournament as the No. 4 seed. It is the lowest the Saints have finished in the league since the 2000 season.
-The Saints had a season-best four-match winning streak, snapped by Martin Luther College in the regular season finale on Saturday.
-CSS is led by sophomore
Kortney Morrin (Grantsburg, Wis./Grantsburg HS (Northern State)), who has 10 double-doubles this season. Morrin leads the team with 3.28 kills per set, which is second-best in the UMAC.
-Junior setter
Erika Birkeland (Prior Lake, Minn./Prior Lake HS) is averaging 7.11 assists per set, which is good enough for third in the league.
-Sophomore
Danielle Benusa (Shakopee, Minn./Shakopee HS) is fourth in the UMAC in digs per set (3.94). Benusa has recorded at least 19 digs in each of the last three matches.
-The Saints as a team continue to lead the UMAC in digs per set (17.0).
-CSS has won five straight UMAC Tournament semifinal matches, but that last two have been in five sets.

University of Northwestern Eagles

-The Eagles clinched a share of the UMAC regular season title after defeating Minnesota Morris in four sets on Saturday.
-Northwestern earns the No. 1 seed because the Eagles won against Morris in four sets, while the Cougars won over the Eagles in five sets.
-Junior Cari Miller leads the team with 276 kills. Kendra Korporal is right behind her with 266 kills.
-Northwestern as a team leads the league with 255 total blocks.
-Krista Stoltz leads the conference with 11.0 assists per set.
-Lexi Bertsch is second in the UMAC with 5.0 digs per set.
-The Eagles come in having won 10 of their last 11 matches.
-Northwestern won last year's UMAC Tournament title.
