PREVIEW: A Reunion of Sorts for Men's Hockey this Weekend

Saturday's game will be Military Appreciation Night at Mars. All of those who have served in the Military will have free admission.

DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The 10th-ranked St. Scholastica men's hockey team will play non-conference games this weekend traveling to University of Wisconsin-Stout Friday and welcoming rival University of Wisconsin-Superior to Mars Lakeview Arena Saturday for Military Appreciation Night.

Game Schedule:
Friday at UW-Stout – 7 p.m.
Saturday vs. UW-Superior – 7 p.m. (Military Appreciation Night-All Military member receive free admission)

- Senior Brandon Nowakowski (Calgary, Alberta/Central Memorial HS (Calgary Royals-AJHL)) was named the NCHA Men's Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday.  Nowakowski recorded a total of five points last weekend against Finlandia, with one goal and one assist in Friday night's win and two goals and one assist in Saturday's win.
- Nowakowski is tied for the NCHA lead with 11 points this season.
- Dylan Nowakowski (Calgary, Alberta/Centennial HS (Brooks-AJHL) ) follows his brother with 10 points and five goals for the Saints.
- Paul Marcoux (Brandon, Manitoba /Vincent Massey Collegiate (Waywayseecappo-MJHL) ) leads the Saints with six assists.
- The Saints are 9-for-22 on the power-play and 20-for-24 in penalty-kill.
- Goaltender Colin Rundell (Tees, Alberta/Lacombe Composite (Alaska-Fairbanks) ) is 4th in the NCHA for win percentage (.750) with 118 saves and 2.88 goals against average.

University of Wisconsin-Stout Blue Devils
Record: 2-4-0 (0-0-0 WIAC)

- The Blue Devils, former members of the NCHA, are coming off a 2-1 loss against Augsburg College and a 1-0 loss against the University of St. Thomas last weekend.
- The Blue Devils are on a three-game losing streak.
- Kevin O'Donnell leads Stout with three goals and four assists.
- Goaltender Corey Koop has 156 saves and .923 saves percentage with a 2-4 record.
- The Blue Devils are 5-for-26 in power-plays.
Series History: (CSS is 18-23-5 vs. UW-Stout)
- The last time these two teams had a series (2012) the Blue Devils swept the Saints 2-1 and 5-2 in Menomonie.

- The Yellowjackets are on a two-game winning streak after defeating Hamline University 4-0 and Northland College 8-2.
- Jeff Forsythe and Michael Rey both scored twice and recorded one assist each against Northland College.
- Cody Hotchkin leads the Yellowjackets with six points, followed by Joey Massingham with five.
- Goaltender Drew Strandberg has a .934 saves percentage closely followed by Dayn Belfour with .853. Belfour is the son of NHL Hall of Famer and Stanley Cup Champion Ed Belfour.

- The Saints swept the Yellowjackets 2-1 and 4-2 in last year's Peters Cup First Round.
