PREVIEW: Women's Soccer to Visit BLC and MLC this Weekend

DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's soccer team will head to Mankato to face Bethany Lutheran College on Friday and New Ulm on Saturday to face Martin Luther College.

*Note the schedule change for Friday.

St. Scholastica Saints
Record:
 6-2-1 (5-0-0 UMAC)
Head Coach: Dave Reyelts 
- After defeating North Central 11-0 and Northwestern 5-0 last weekend, the Saints continue a six-game winning streak.
- Head Coach Dave Reyelts is only one win shy of his 200th career victory.
- The Saints lead the UMAC in shots, shots per game, shots on goal, and assists.
- Junior Kelsey Kehtel (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) heads her team and the UMAC with a total of seven goals.
- Casey Mitchell (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Tech) leads the Saints in assists (6).  In the last six games Mitchell has recorded either a goal or an assist.
- Goalkeeper Kelsey Reeves (Eagle River, Alaska/Eagle River HS ) is second in the UMAC for goals against average (0.96) and goals against (6).
- Shannon Carlson (Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury HS) is third in the UMAC with five goals for the season.  In the previous four games Carlson has recorded 11 points with five goals and one assists.
- Saturday's contest at Martin Luther is this week's UMAC Game of the Week.

Bethany Lutheran College Vikings
Record: 3-4-1 (2-1-1 UMAC)
Head Coach: Derick Lyngholm
- Vikings won at home against Crown last Friday.  Emily Biggs and Diana Garza scored in the first half.  Taylor Friehl scored the game winning goal in the second OT.
- Goalkeeper Alexa Mowery comes into the game 3-4-1 with 53 saves and saves percentage at .757 making her fifth in the UMAC.
- Taylor Friehl leads the Vikings with three goals and two assists.
- Vikings are third in the UMAC with 14.8 shots per game, but are last with eight goals scored.
Series History: (CSS is 16-0-1 vs. Bethany Lutheran)
- The Saints have never lost to the Vikings; the only tie took place in 2010.


Martin Luther College Knights
Record: 5-3-0 (3-1-0 UMAC)
Head Coach: Jeff Schone
- The Knights are second overall in shots and take the lead in shot percentage in the UMAC.
- The last game for the Knights was a 4-1 win against Crown.  Bethany Schultz tallied up two goals and two assists, making her second in the UMAC for assists and goals.
- Jenna Maurer and Bethany Schultz lead the UMAC with eight goals.
- Goalkeeper Keely Keese sits sixth in the UMAC with 43 saves.  Keese comes into the game with one shutout for the season and .694 save percentage.

- The last time the Saints lost to the Knights was 4-1 in 2002.
