Box Score DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's soccer team added to its winning streak on Friday when it defeated the University of Minnesota Morris 4-0 at Saints Field.
In the 21st minute the Saints struck as
Shannon Carlson (Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury HS) scored the first of her two goals of the game.
Casey Mitchell (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Tech) had the assist. Carlson has recorded at least one point on 10 straight games.
In the 34th minute,
Leah Hamm (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Denfeld HS) scored her 13th goal of the season assisted by
Kelsey Kehtel (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS). At the end of the first half, the Saints were up by two goals and led the Cougars in shots 13-1.
Five minutes into the second half, Kehtel and Hamm paired up with Hamm feeding Kehtel to make the score 3-0. Kehtel has recorded a goal in each of the last seven games in which she has appeared.
Carlson added the final goal in the 57th minute when she capitalized on a low corner kick from
Logan Williamson (Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson HS).
The Saints had eight shots on the Cougars in the second half, but the Cougars were not able to get a shot on
Kelsey Reeves (Eagle River, Alaska/Eagle River HS ) (4-2-1).
