DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica volleyball team is back at home this weekend as it hosts the University of Northwestern on Friday night and North Central University Saturday afternoon.
Note: There will be a Student-Athlete Advisory Committee 50/50 raffle at Friday night's volleyball match vs. Northwestern. The proceeds will go to Special Olympics.

St. Scholastica Saints
Record: 9-13 (5-4 UMAC)

-The Saints look to rebound from a tough 3-2 loss last Saturday at Minnesota Morris. Morris is currently first in the conference standings.
-CSS will play their next four games at home, three of which come against UMAC (Upper Midwest Athletic Conference) opponents.
-
Kortney Morrin (Grantsburg, Wis./Grantsburg HS (Northern State)) has been playing well for the Saints, and recently tied the school record for most kills in four sets with 28 against Moravian.
-Morrin has tallied double digit kills in six of her last eight matches and is second in the UMAC with a 3.19 kills-per-set average. Her 246 kills on the season are also fourth in the conference.
-
Erika Birkeland (Prior Lake, Minn./Prior Lake HS) is third in the conference with .37 service-aces-per-set and 7.30 assists-per-set averages.
-St. Scholastica is currently fourth in the UMAC behind Morris, Northwestern and Martin Luther.
-The Saints are just 2-2 at home, but have not had a contest in the Reif Gymnasium since October 5th.

University of Northwestern Eagles
Record: 16-11 (9-1 UMAC)

-The Eagles look to catch Morris in the UMAC standings and keep their five match winning streak alive this weekend.
-Setter Krista Stoltz was chosen as the league's setter of the week for the fifth time this season. Stoltz and averaged 12.71 assists per set in four matches last week.
-Stoltz leads the UMAC with a 10.95 assists-per-set average and recently became the second Eagle in program history to surpass 4,000 assists for her career
-Kendra Korporal is fourth in the UMAC with 2.80 kills-per-set this season.
-Lexi Bertsch has played well defensively for the Eagles, as her 4.93 digs per set is second in the conference.
-Northwestern has been strong at home this season (7-2), but has been less formidable on the road (5-3).

North Central University Rams
Record: 5-21 (1-9 UMAC)

-The Rams have struggled this season, and look to snap a five match losing skid this weekend. During the losing skid, North Central has failed to win a set.
-North Central has won just one of their last 12 contests, emerging with just four set victories in that span.
-NCU has not won a road contest this season, and four of their five wins are at home.
-The Rams visit conference rival Northland before heading to Duluth to face CSS on Saturday.
-North Central has a young squad this season, with just one senior and one junior.
-Elissa Pheneger is fourth in the UMAC with a 5.69 assists-per-set average.
