PREVIEW: Women's Soccer to Play Final UMAC Road Games

DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's soccer team will take its nine-game winning streak to the Twin Cities this weekend as it faces the University of Northwestern on Friday and North Central University on Saturday.

St. Scholastica Saints
Record:
 9-2-1 (8-0-0 UMAC)
Head Coach: Dave Reyelts 
-Most recently, the Saints defeated Martin Luther 10-0 and axed the LumberJills of Northland College 5-0 last weekend at Saints Field.
-Kelsey Kehtel (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) leads the Saints and is tied for the UMAC lead with 12 goals. Leah Hamm (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Denfeld HS) is second on the team and fourth in the conference with nine.
-Kehtel is also third in the UMAC with 26 points, and Hamm and Casey Mitchell (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Tech) are tied for fourth with 21 points each.
-Mitchell has registered a point in nine straight games and has scored a goal in each of the last five games.
-Shannon Carlson (Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury HS) has recorded a point in seven straight games.
-Megan Seymour (Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville South HS ) has played well in net for the Saints as of late. Seymour has started the past five games for CSS, and has yet to allow a goal.
-The Saints defense has been dominant as of late, as opponents have not scored on St. Scholastica during their nine game winning streak. CSS's scoreless streak is currently at 850 minutes and 40 seconds.

University of Northwestern Eagles
Record: 4-7-1 (3-4-1 UMAC)
Head Coach: Josh Pettit
-The Eagles look to build off of their two victories last weekend. Northwestern downed North Central twice, shutting out the Rams 3-0 in the Friday contest and winning 4-1 in the Saturday match.
-Northwestern is led offensively by Lauren Cleope. She has five goals and three assists on the season, both of which are tops on the team.
-The Eagles have surprisingly struggled at home this season, posting just a 1-5-1 record. Northwestern will play their next three contests at home, beginning with the Saints.
-Northwestern averages just 1.5 goals per game, while CSS significantly eclipses that with a 4.1 goals per game average.
-Keeper Emily Johnson is fourth in the UMAC with 88 saves. However, her .759 save percentage is seventh in the conference.
Series History: (CSS is 33-9-0 vs. Northwestern)
-The Saints have won the past six matches against the Eagles, most recently a 5-0 victory earlier this year.


North Central University Rams
Record: 2-11-0 (0-8-0 UMAC)
Head Coach: Allison Meadows
-North Central looks to pick up their first conference win this weekend as they host Northland on Friday before the Saints come to play Saturday.
-The Rams have lost their past four games, scoring just one goal during that span. North Central has been outscored 22-1 in those games.
-The Rams have struggled offensively. North Central averages just 6.8 shots per game and under a goal per game, last in the conference.
-Keeper Rachael Chant is fifth in the UMAC with 72 saves. However, her .655 save percentage is last in the conference.
-The Rams also look to pick up their first home victory this weekend. North Central has fared better on the road than at home this year, as they are 0-6 at home and is 2-5 on the road.
