Box Score ASHLAND, Wis. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's basketball team opened Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) action by dominating Northland College from start to finish en route to a 93-64 victory Tuesday night.
The opening half saw the Saints open the game with a lay-up from
MarShaan Johnson (Minneapolis, Minn./Minneapolis North HS (Minneapolis Comm. & Tech. College)) and it would be all Saints from there as they scored 18 points off turnovers and 26 points were accumulated in the paint as the Saints cruised to a 51-32 halftime lead.
The second half was much of the same as the Saints never let the lead fall beneath 20 points after the 18:50 mark when the lead was 19 points. The Saints' bench combined to score 31 of the 42 points in the second half. CSS would cruise to a 93-64 win.
The Saints were led by transfer
Trevor Morlock (Rogers, Minn./Rogers HS (Minn., Crookston)) with 23 points. Morlock was 6-for-8 from beyond the arc on the night.
Jonah Dahlman (Braham, Minn./Braham HS) chipped in 20 points and five assists.
The Saints finished the game shooting a season-best 56 percent from the field and 55 percent from beyond the arc.
Northland (0-8, 0-1 UMAC) was led by Adrian Flores with 16 points. Three other players reached double digits for the 'Jacks as well.
The 'Jacks finished the game shooting 41 percent from the field, 40 percent from beyond the arc, and 70 percent from the free throw line.
The Saints (3-9, 1-0 UMAC) will return home this weekend as they host the University of Minnesota Morris on Friday. Tip time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in the Reif Gymnasium. Tune into csssaints.com for the live broadcast of the game.
