Box Score NORTHFIELD, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's soccer team was outshot 17-3 in its 2-0 loss at St. Olaf College on Saturday afternoon in Northfield.
The loss is the first for St. Scholastica during the regular season since the Oles defeated the Saints at the Cobber Classic last season in Moorhead by the same 2-0 score. CSS had been unbeaten in 16 regular season contests prior to that. The Saints fall to 0-10 all-time against the Oles.
The Oles (2-1-0) picked up their first goal in the 34th minute on a Madison Van Wylen tally, her second of the season. St. Olaf had a 9-2 shots advantage in the half and a 5-0 corners edge.
St. Olaf sealed the victory in the 70th minute as Amanda Leone scored for the Oles to make the final score 2-0.
Kelsey Reeves (Eagle River, Alaska/Eagle River HS ) made nine saves in the loss for the Saints.
Andrea Beatt (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove HS) had the lone shot on goal for CSS. Nora Forbes earned the win for the Oles.
The Saints (1-1-1) will remain in Northfield for tomorrow's contest against Carleton College. The action is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. and can be seen live on Saints Sports Net, courtesy of Carleton.
