| By:
Box Score DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) –The St. Scholastica women's soccer team received a hat trick from Andrea Beatt (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove HS) and out shot Bethany Lutheran 33-3 on its way to an 8-1 Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) victory on a perfect Friday afternoon at Saints Field.

The scoring came early and often for the Saints, with the first goal of the game in the 11th minute as Alexi Bopray (River Falls, Wis./River Falls HS) found Casey Mitchell (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Tech) for her first goal of the season. Less than a minute later, Beatt found the back of the net for her first of three goals courtesy of a Logan Williamson (Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson HS) assist.

Bethany Lutheran responded to the Saints early attack with a goal of its own from Kathyrn Scislow on a penalty kick in the 13th minute. The Saints quickly rebounded, as Beatt tallied her second goal of the game off of Bopray's second assist in the 16th minute.

The Saints continued to apply the pressure to the Viking defense with 17 shots in the first half, adding another goal in the 28th minute as Kelsey Kehtel (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) scored her sixth goal of the year courtesy of a Mitchell assist. The Saints would also receive another goal from Kehtel in the 44th minute, just a minute after she assisted Morgan Osborne (Saint Peter, Minn./Saint Peter HS)'s second goal of the season.

Beatt would add her eighth goal of the season (and third of the game) in the 53rd minute on a penalty kick. This is the second time this season Beatt has recorded a hat trick. Osborne added another goal late in the second half to push the score to 8-1. Shannon Carlson (Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury HS) and Kallie Thomas (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) were credited with the assist.

The Saints defense turned in another outstanding performance, not allowing a second half shot and only giving up three shots for the game. The Saints defense has given up just two goals in UMAC play thus far this season. Kelsey Reeves (Eagle River, Alaska/Eagle River HS ) earned the win for the Saints, making one stop. Alexa Mowery made 13 saves in the loss for the Vikings (5-5-0, 3-2-0 UMAC).

The Saints (6-3-1, 5-1-0 UMAC) are now 15-0-1 against the Vikings all-time and host Martin Luther College tomorrow at noon at Saints Field. All of the action can be seen live on Saints Sports Net.
