| By:
Box Score ABERDEEN, S.D. – The St. Scholastica women's basketball team battled back from a seven point halftime deficit and forced overtime where Mariah Hovick (Prior Lake, Minn./Prior Lake HS) would make two free throws in the final seconds and the Saints would go on to win 64-62 over Presentation College in the regular season finale Saturday afternoon at the Strode Center.

The opening minutes of the game saw both Presentation and CSS trade baskets with neither team garnering a lead larger than four points until the 7:15 mark when Presentation would take a 16-11 lead.  Presentation controlled the half and lead 28-21 heading into the break.

The second half was much of the same as both teams would trade baskets, leads, and turnovers until Taylor Fellbaum (Minong, Wis./Northwood HS) hit a jumper with 33 seconds left in the contest.  A strong defensive stand in the closing seconds by CSS forced overtime.

In overtime, CSS would grab the lead for good just 25 seconds in with a lay-up by Hovick.  Presentation would tie the game up once again with 32 seconds left in overtime when Hovick would be fouled on the ensuing possession.  Hovick would make two free-throws with seven seconds left and Presentation would turn the ball over on the final possession of the game, allowing the CSS Saints to escape with a 64-62 victory.

Presentation (4-20, 3-12 UMAC) had three players in double figures, scoring 19, 16, and 15 points respectively.  Presentation would finish the game shooting 25-percent from the field, 30-percent from beyond the arc, and 89-percent from the free-throw line.

Presentation collected 44 rebounds and committed 19 turnovers.  Presentation's largest lead was nine points for the game.

For CSS, Hovick had a double-double, scoring 16 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.  Hovick was four steals away from a triple-double.  Laura Amys (South Range, Wis./Superior HS) added a double-double of her own, scoring 10 points and grabbing 12 rebounds as well.  Elena Huber (Northfield, Minn./Northfield HS) added 10 points off of the bench.

The Saints would finish the game shooting 36-percent from the field, 25-percent from beyond the arc, and 86-percent from the charity stripe.  The Saints would grab 51 total rebounds and commit 21 turnovers.  The Saints' largest lead was four points for the game.

The Saints (12-13, 10-4 UMAC) will be the No. 3 seed for the UMAC tournament next week.  On Wednesday, the Saints will travel to Minnesota-Morris, who despite sharing the regular season title with Martin Luther College, will be the No. 2 seed by way of losing a coin flip.  Tune into csssaints.com for updates on the start of that game.
