NORTHFIELD, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's hockey team allowed two power-play goals and St. Olaf College goaltender Steve Papciak made 36 saves as the Oles picked up their first victory of the season, defeating the Saints 2-1 on Friday night in Northfield.
Brian Hickey started the scoring off for the Oles with a power-play goal less than three minutes into the first period courtesy of a Kevin Harris assist. Late in the second period, Harris would pick up another power-play assist, this time to twin brother Jeff Harris, pushing the score to 2-0. Geoff Gieni was also credited with the assist.
The Oles two-goal lead was cut in half in the third period as
Paul Marcoux (Brandon, Manitoba /Vincent Massey Collegiate (Waywayseecappo-MJHL) ) netted a goal for St. Scholastica midway through the period. Despite 37 shots, the Saints were unable to complete the comeback, falling to the Oles 2-1.

Colin Rundell (Tees, Alberta/Lacombe Composite (Alaska-Fairbanks) ) made 34 saves as the Saints dropped to 1-2-0 on the season. Steve Papciak finished with 36 saves for the Oles, who improve to 1-1-1 on the year.
