DULUTH, Minn. – The St. Scholastica men's hockey team will travel to Stevens Point, Wis. this weekend for their sixth and seventh straight road games to take on the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Pointers in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) action.

The Saints got back in the win column by beating Northland College on Tuesday evening 5-1 snapping a three-game losing skid.  Five different Saints scored and Colin Rundell (Tees, Alberta/Lacombe Composite (Alaska-Fairbanks) ) made 16 saves in the victory.

St. Scholastica Saints (8-5-2, 3-3-2 NCHA)
Normally a second half team, the Saints began the New Year with two losses to MIAC schools Gustavus Adolphus and Augsburg … CSS hopes to gain some momentum back into NCHA play after defeating MCHA foe Northland College on Tuesday … Brett Corcoran (Parksville, British Columbia/Ballenas Secondary (Trail Smoke-BCHL) ) continues to lead the team and conference in scoring with 22 on 12 goals and 10 assists … Jeremy Dawes (Winnipeg, Manitoba/College Jeanne Suave (Portage-MJHL) ) and Tyler Miller (Fort Frances, Ontario/Rainy River HS (Thunder Bay-SIJHL) ) are tied in second with 17 points a piece while senior captain Carter Davis (Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan/Central Collegiate (Waywayseecappo-MJHL) ) is right behind them with 16 points on four goals and 12 assists … Austin Brown (Lathrup Village, Mich./Legacy HS (Woodstock-MJAHL) ) has put up great offensive numbers as a defenseman for the Saints this year scoring four goals and notching 11 assists rounding out the top five scorers for CSS … Rundell has gotten the majority of the starts in goal for the Saints this year after some early season shuffling was done at the goaltender position … He has played in 12 games (started 11) and has a record of 5-5-2 with a .903 save percentage … St. Scholastica also leads the conference with 24 power-play goals and a 32-percent power-play efficiency. 

UW-Stevens Point Pointers (8-7-2, 4-4-2 NCHA)
The Pointers have been hot lately winning six of their last seven games after starting the season 2-6-2 … Three of those six wins have been against conference opponents to move them into second place in the league after being tied for last on December 2 … Kyle Heck leads the way for UWSP with 16 points on 11 goals and five assists … Luke Nesper is the only other player with double figures in points for the Pointers with 12 on four goals and eight assists … Nick Graves and Brandon Jaeger have split time in goal for UWSP … Graves has a record of 5-5-1, while Jaeger is 3-2-1 … The two have a combined save percentage of .913.

The Saints fell to the Pointers 3-1 when they met in Stevens Point last season on February 4.  The lone goal for St. Scholastica was netted by Dawes.
