St. Scholastica got goals from Kelsey Kehtel (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) and Kristin McIntosh (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS (Century College)) in the 2nd half of Saturday's game to lift the Saints over Bethany Lutheran College 2-0 at Saints Field.

The Saints held the Vikings (4-3-0, 1-1-0 UMAC) without a shot in the first half as they outshot Bethany 17-0. Even with the lopsided shot count, the Saints and Vikings went into halftime tied at zero.

St. Scholastica continued to control the tempo in the second half, as it did for much of the first half. The score remained tied at zero until the 52nd minute when Kehtel scored her second goal in as many days to break the tie on an assist from Kaylee Gombold (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater HS).

The Saints weren't done scoring as McIntosh put in her first goal of the season in the 66th minute, with Gombold once again on the assist.

The Saints ended the game outshooting the Vikings 29-2, and controlled the tempo for almost the entire game, keeping Bethany scoreless as the game ended 2-0.

Bailey Mahlum (Bismarck, N.D./Bismarck HS) earned the victory for the Saints in goal, needing only one save to earn her second shutout of the year and improve to 2-3-0 on the season. Alexa Mowery was the goalkeeper on record for the Vikings, making 11 saves on the day, but falling to 4-3 on the season.

The Saints (3-4-0, 3-0-0 UMAC) will take the field again next Friday as they travel to Minnesota-Morris (3-2-0, 1-0-0 UMAC) to face off with the Cougars at 4 p.m.
