MINNEAPOLIS – The 25th-ranked St. Scholastica volleyball team made quick work of Gustavus Adolphus before falling to seventh-ranked University of St. Thomas in the title match of the 30th annual Augsburg Tournament on Saturday.

The Saints quickly took care of Gustavus in three sets 25-13, 25-19, 25-19 this morning to advance to the championship match. Paige Hardy (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing HS) had 13 kills to lead CSS. Anna Zyvoloski (Sauk Rapids, Minn./St. Cloud Cathedral HS (Minn.-Duluth)) added nine kills and Taylor Tyllia (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) added seven kills. Sarah Kurtovich (Andover, Minn./Andover HS) had 31 set assists. The Gusties fell to 4-3 on the year.

The Saints advanced to the championship match where they went up against seventh-ranked University of St. Thomas. The Tommies defeated the Saints in four sets at the Saint Mary's University Ground Round Sugarloaf Invitational last Saturday.

Unfortunately for the Saints, it was the same outcome today in the championship as the Tommies won in the three sets by scores of 25-19, 25-10, 25-20.

Zyvoloski led the Saints with 11 kills, while Tyllia followed with eight kills. Zyvoloski and Nikki Hughes (Lake Nebagamon, Wis./Northwestern HS) each had 11 digs. St. Thomas remains unbeaten this season with an 8-0 record.

Just like at the St. Olaf Invitational last week, Paige Hardy (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing HS) and Anna Zyvoloski (Sauk Rapids, Minn./St. Cloud Cathedral HS (Minn.-Duluth)) were named to the all-tournament team.

The Saints (9-3) will be in their final preseason tournament of the season next weekend when they take part in the College of Saint Benedict Holiday Inn-Vitational. The Saints will play the host, St. Ben's, at 5 p.m. and then fellow conference rival University of Minnesota, Morris at 7 p.m.
