Wallis Leads Saints on Day Two of Conference Championships

ISHPEMING, Mich. – Senior #Lindsay Wallis# led the St. Scholastica women skiers in the Central Collegiate Ski Association (CCSA) Championship 15km women's classic mass start, finishing 24th in a time of 54:42.3.

Michigan Tech's Malin Erickson pushed through difficult conditions to take the win in a time of 49:28.6. Saturday's skate winner, Carolyn Freeman, finished second, just three-tenths of a second back of Erickson, while Alaska Fairbanks' Theresia Schnurr finished third, five seconds behind Freeman.

Saints junior #Eleanor Magnuson# finished in the 29th spot, and freshman #Brooke Adams# finished 30th respectively. Northern Michigan won for the second straight day to claim the first annual Butch Reimer cup as the CCSA Men's Conference Champions.

The Saints women finished eighth, losing a tiebreaker with St. Ben's for seventh. Fairbanks won the day over Northern Michigan, the Wildcats hung on to beat the Nanooks by one point for the weekend to claim the first annual Butch Reimer Cup as the CCSA Team Champion. The Saints women finished seventh on the weekend.

The Saints head into the final week of competition at the NCAA Central Regionals in Houghton, Mich. Friday and Saturday.
