The Saints fought back after a three-point play by
Lindsey Olson (Port Wing, Wis./South Shore HS) and a three-pointer by
Elena Huber (Northfield, Minn./Northfield HS) cut the lead to four at 16-12, but the Warhawks outscored CSS 25-8 the rest of the half to take a 41-20 lead into halftime.
The second half was a much more even battle early on as far as points goes. Whitewater began the half with a 4-0 run, but St. Scholastica answered with a four point run of its own. The teams exchanged four-point runs once again to keep the lead at 21 for the Warhawks.
Whitewater's offense would take off once again at the halfway point of the second half when they went on a 14-0 run to go ahead 74-37.
CSS would make a late run at the on the back of
Caitlin McKernon (Coon Rapids, Minn./Fridley HS) who had six points as part of an 8-0 run to cut the lead down to 29, but it was too little too late as the Saints fell to UW-Whitewater 76-46.
McKernon led the Saints in scoring with 14 in only 18 minutes of play, and was the only player to reach the double-digit mark for CSS.
McKernon, along with

Overall as a team, CSS shot 16-49 (32.7%) from the field. The Warhawks didn't shoot much better at 38.2%, but 17 offensive rebounds allowed Whitewater to get off 76 shot attempts on the day.
The Saints (0-5) will be back in action later this week when they head to River Falls to take on the UW-River Falls Falcons (4-0) on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
